Mirabaud Fund (CH) - Swiss Dividend I cap. CHF

Investment overview

This fund aims for long-term appreciation of the portfolio, by investing mainly in shares of Swiss companies that generate dividends and/or that display potential for dividend or capital growth over the long term, while integrating sustainability criteria into the selection of securities.

Approach to sustainability

We adopt a disciplined approach to material ESG issues such as climate change, business ethics and human capital. Through proxy voting and engagement with the companies we invest in, we are able to address extra-financial risks and advocate ESG good practices. We believe that this can improve the companies’ prospects, quality and risk profile.

We follow a three-step process: 1. Exclusion of companies operating in controversial sectors, and companies involved in recent major controversies; 2. Positive screening - aiming to minimise downside risk of the portfolio by excluding companies lagging on ESG practices; 3. In-depth analysis of material ESG issues for all companies, along with ongoing engagement.

Share Class Highlights

Performance update

Temenos, Vontobel and Cembra had a positive impact on the relative performance of the portfolio. Furthermore, our non-exposure to Sandoz and underweight position in Novartis supported relative performance. On the negative side, the portfolio was burdened by exposure to Sunrise and Partners Group. Our lack of exposure to Lonza, Givaudan, and Galderma also had a negative impact.

Portfolio activity

In December, we reduced our positions in Julius Bär, UBS, Richemont, Nestlé and Roche. We used the proceeds to buy Swisscom, Helvetia and Orior.
