Emilio Barberá joins Mirabaud Asset Management to strengthen Spanish equities capabilities

Barcelona, 13 May 2015. Mirabaud Asset Management is delighted to welcome Emilio Barberá, who joins the firm as Senior Portfolio Manager/Analyst for Spanish equities.

Emilio Barberá’s appointment occurs at a time when Spanish equities at Mirabaud Asset Management are gaining significant traction from a wide array of investors on a global basis. The Mirabaud – Equities Spain fund recently crossed assets of EUR 120 million on the back of strong and consistent performance over the years.

With 17 years’ experience and an unparalleled level of knowledge of Spanish companies, Emilio Barberá joins Mirabaud Asset Management from Inverseguros in Madrid where he was responsible, for a Spanish equity fund, and actively involved in the management of various European funds. The bottom-up conviction based approach with fundamental analysis employed by Emilio Barberá fits perfectly with Mirabaud Asset Management’s investment philosophy: deep company research, active management and strong conviction.

Emilio Barberá graduated from the University of Valencia with a degree in Finance, Accounting and Audit; he started his career in 1998 at Bancaja in the accounting department.

Within Mirabaud Asset Management, Emilio Barberá will act as the deputy portfolio manager for the Equities Spain fund and analyst on Spanish equities while Gemma Hurtado San Leandro will remain the lead portfolio manager and team leader.
